General recommendations.
Recent international concerns about violence in society have included the issue of school violence, pointedly that the school is an integral part of the community.

In the Romanian society, violence in schools is a ragged aspect, lacking national statistics and researches.

This study responds to a need for knowledge of dimensions, forms of expression and school violence causes, necessary to elaborate preventing and diminishing strategies.

Accorded to this research, school violence includes any form of behaviors’ manifestation such as verbal and psychological violence (nicknames, teasing, threatening, harassing) physical violence; behaviors covered by the law (rape, consumer / marketing drug theft) offenses against status / teacher authority, other types of deviant behavior in relation to school.

Starting from this definition, research objectives were:
• dimensions assessment of school violence;
• identifying situations of school violence and developing a typology of the phenomenon;
• Identifying the school violence causes;
• Developing a set of recommendations for teachers and parents in order to diminish the school violence.
COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
Investigative approach of the school violence phenomenon research used a complex strategy that combined both quantitative and qualitative research methods using a set of methods and techniques in order to collect information.
In order to identify the violence phenomena and its manifestation forms, and the causes and possible solutions for prevention and intervention, the authors tried to relieve the representations of the different educational actors - school managers, teachers, inspectors, other responsible factors - Police representatives, parents and students.
In the absence of a monitoring system for the violence phenomena in schools and an universally definition accepted by the decision makers, allowing the collection of information structured according to specific criteria, this research, that had an exploratory nature, achieved only an overall assessment of the phenomenon.
School violence is imposed increasingly in attention of the contemporary society and especially in the specialized institutions and non-governmental organizations, aware of the magnitude of this phenomenon, even in the absence of rigorous and comparable statistics at different levels of globalization.
The fact that many schools have many violence problems is well known globally and nationally.
Awareness of bullying phenomenon should naturally lead to increase the efforts in order to improve the current situation.
In this context, this study aims to provide an insight into the scale of the violence phenomenon in Romanian schools, also identifying the causes and factors that determine it.
The study also suggests a set of recommendations for improvement and prevention of school violence, addressed to the civil society bodies.
Analysis focused on significant documents covering recent study topics.
The study addresses teachers, headmasters, policy makers in education, local community representatives.
