COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
Despite the importance of drama in education, the lack of literature specifically for students with learning difficulties and special educational needs was notable. The relevant Greek literature so far has been limited to the translation of foreign books without adjusting to the Greek conditions and curricula. The new book aims to fill this gap in the literature. It is a practical guide for the implementation of educational drama for teachers of both general and special education (special educators and special education staff). The proposals relate to teaching students with mild disorders (specific learning disabilities, attention deficit disorder, emotional and behavioral problems), but also heavier disorders, such as mental retardation and pervasive developmental disorders. Apart from teaching the subjects, they also aim the development of social and communication skills of students and the stimulation of their self-esteem.
