DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS
A very high rate of absenteeism is determined in Tekirdağ, a province where Roman students predominate. Besides this, Roman students’ academic success is not efficient enough to continue in higher educational levels. Another important point is, generally there are prejudices against Roman students and according to these, Roman students are alienated to social and cultural activities.
In order to end up the project in success, there are different activities prepared in the Tekirdağ region where many Roman students are inhabited. The increase of their academic success level, the improvement of their social skills and the awareness and empathy between Roman students and others are aimed. The aims of the project can be listed as following:
1. The increase of Roman students academic success level
2. The development of Roman students socio-cultural status
3. The fusion of Roman students with the society
4. Raising awareness of Roman students educational problems within the province.
5. Incresing of security of schools in Roman districts.
COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
There are many problems encountered with Roman students predominating in the province Tekirdağ. Some of them are the high rate of absenteeism, low rate of academic success and problems in adapting to the socio-cultural structure of the society. With the help of this investigation, it is aimed to adapt the Roman students to the society and to save their education an so their lives. This continuum has to be supported by the government and institutions related to them. After the support of the government the second step is considered as to raise the awareness of school-parents associations and to prevent the prejudice against Roman students. Another important fact is to provide a safety educational surrounding.

Final Partners’ meeting

The fourth partners’ meeting took place in Florence (IT) on 15 December 2014. The meeting had the objective to check the activities carried out since the third meeting of the project and share and assess the in progress results. A special focus has been dedicated to the presentation of the strategies to solve the case scenarios.
