DESCRIPTION OF CONTENTS
The Order of June 20th, 2011, which establishes measures for the promotion of coexistence in publicly funded schools and regulates the rights of the families to participate in the educative process of their daughters and sons, is the most recent regulation that we have in the Autonomous Community of Andalusia in this field.
It exposes an original aspect in the matters of coexistence in schools, as it provides the right of the families to participate in the learning process of their sons and daughters.
Said Order will be applied to schools that teach to Pre-school, Primary Education, Compulsory Secondary Education, Baccalaureate and initial Vocational Courses.
For its application, the Protocol of intervention in bullying cases will be regarded. The Protocol is supported in several steps that must be realized in an ordered manner; which are the following:
STEP 1. Identification, communication and report of the situation.
STEP 2. Immediate actions.
STEP 3. Emergency measures.
STEP 4. Notification to the family.
STEP 5. Notification to the rest of professionals that attend the bullied student.
STEP 6. Collection of different sources of information.
STEP 7. Application of disciplinary measures.
STEP 8. Communication to the Commission of Coexistence
STEP 9. Communication to the Educative Inspection.
STEP 10. Elaboration of an Intervention Plan by the school Management.
STEP 11. Communication to the families.
STEP 12. Monitoring of the Intervention Plan by the Educative Inspection.
STEP 13. Counseling of the Provincial Cabinet of Counseling of School Coexistence.
COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
The Protocol is directed towards school principals, although it may also be beneficial for teachers, students and families, since these are recognized the right to participate in the educative process of their sons and daughters thanks to the Order of June 20th 2011.
Having a Protocol of intervention eases the task of taking action in bullying cases, as it speeds up its realization and systematizes the process, which is a good practice to reduce and eradicate the rates of school absenteeism, as affected people tend to abandon the school system because they do not receive an adequate response. However, the Protocol of intervention in cases of bullying eases the task to the educative community of acting in an efficient manner to this kind of problem.
Among the objectives of the Protocol of intervention in cases of school bullying we can find: securing the protection of the younger students, preserving their intimacy and their families', generate an atmosphere of basic trust among the young students, collecting every kind of proof and indicators, preventing the duplication of interventions and avoiding unnecessary interventions.
These objectives are vital to generate a feeling of trust and protection from the young student to the educative institution as a support to prevent school absenteeism.
