DESCRIPTION OF THE EXPERIENCE
This story took place during the school year 2013/2014 Hight School Alfaguara in Loja ( Granada ) . The student was fifteen years old and is gypsy. Although quite intelligent, shows almost no readiness to study, and it is very difficult to work or pay attention on a task for more than ten minutes. Considering the above difficulties, the student has learned to read and write well, with some misspellings. Fluently also dominates the four basic rules of calculation.

The student arrives at school late. Also not going very neat, because it tends to smell snuff among other substances.

The student often leave class when he wants and is quite disruptive. It has a large "rage" or " anger " accumulated against teachers, the police and the "people" in general. Many days sleeping on the street, even in freezing temperatures. He was abandoned by his mother and his father when both were divorced and joined other couples.

The guy almost always "cold turkey " of snuff , and when you have time, even while in class, goes out looking butts because no money to buy it .

Own classmates tell us how the student has attempted to steal multiple times, and often complain because it is very annoying.

To resolve the situation we have put the case in the hands of social services, we have taken special educational measures ( psychology focus) , and we have tried to avoid truancy .

The support received from his colleagues has been to denounce and report this situation while teachers have supported and helped him as we can, in line with the stated above.

The student just dropping out the school, expelled for bad behavior. The individual and social problem continues to grow, and their resolution requires coordination, resources and will.

Message: It is indeed a difficult case.
The teacher must convince the student that the behavior is correct and try to assign activities to the site interesting.
Teachers in schools with Roma children are trained to deal with the particular issues they may face - sometimes helped by mediators and assistants recruited from local communities.

Message: This is indeed a strange, rare situation - being a capable student, but with many behaviour problems. Usually, children are traumatized by their parents abandon, and this student particulary seems to have become very tough with the society he lives in and even with himself. The fact that his professors and schoolmates were willing to help him shows their wish to give everyone a chance to education and to a better life.

Message: This testimony shows how a school situation can be complicated. Student’s behaviours are of course linked to an individual, familial and cultural story. We can set up measures, coordinate actions with external services, etc. and come to a result that seems unrewarding. The actors are led to keep their ambition, their optimism, their dynamism and their creativity…
