Description of Contents
If a child has been identified with learning disabilities, it is a great burden for parents to accept this. So, in many cases they feel confused and overwhelmed. The National Center for Learning Disabilities presents this video in order to help the parents who feel stranded. The most important point which should be considered is not to panic. Laura Kausnyer gives some a valuable assistance about situations where Learning Disability is detected in the child. To overcome the stress or even the anxiety about the own child following steps should be followed. First of all one should know that Learning Disabilities is not a totally failure of the child’s learning ability. The learning process proceeds just harder and slower compared to children without LD. Here, parents should be aware of the fact that they have to support and guide their children to success. Also the teacher plays a crucial role in the classroom. The teacher has to accommodate the LD student’s comfort level in the classroom. As a matter of fact, parents should know that they have to teach their children to ask for help and for not being ashamed. Encouraging and supporting the child who suffer learning disabilities will help to achieve many goals.
Review
This video presented by The National Center for Learning Disabilities and guided by Laura Kausnyer gives valuable advice in terms of supporting parents who feel helpless after the diagnose of a Learning Disability in their children. It is understandable that such a diagnose is disappointing, stressing or even scaring parents but it also needs to act properly and correctly. It is not possible to make Learning Disability disappear but it is possible to teach the child and also the parents and so the teachers to deal with it. Awareness is the crux in this situation and every next step determines the child’s life. Laura Kausnyer gives valuable tips which encourage the parents and as a result of this the Learning Disability child itself.
