Description of Dissemination Event:
The dissemination event took place on the 16th Primary School in Patras, Greece, in 25th of October 2013. On the 28th of October there is a national day in Greece and the schools are closed and parades are taking place across the country. The participants were teachers, students and parents and the whole event is being organised by the school with the responsibility of the School Director. The aim of the event was to celebrate the National Day, the “Ohi” Celebration as we use to call it in Greece. Students presented a small theatrical play and some others with the help of their teachers presented some songs from 1940s where this celebration is referring.
Target group:
There were 12 teachers, about 200 students and (more or less) 50 parents available.
Number of people reached by event:
262
Held in:
Patras Greece
Outcomes and Results:
At the end of this event, teachers and students discussed the fact that Canadians and Australians helped the Greeks in their effort against the Nazi’s. The teachers provided them with information that demonstrated their contribution to a national scope. It was self evident that immigrants were part of our community from ages and their contribution to the involvement of our society was valuable.
