This Best Practice Guide is aimed to create a tool in order to implement a preparation methodology for the professionals’ training positive education which work with children and parents.
Therefore, the guide is aimed at professionals working with children, decision makers and local institutions involved in education and child protection, as well as non-governmental organizations involved in child protection.
This guide suggests a change of mentality of parents and teachers on the use of force in relations between parents and children, teachers and children, children and children, providing alternatives to the aggressive behaviors, suggesting relational models appropriate, ways of coping and conflict management.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
The Guide appeared on the initiative of the “Save the Children” Organization, who wanted to give to all those who work with children and parents, an information resource with effective methods of educating children.
The experience developed by specialists of the “Save the Children” Organization, into the psychological and educational consulting provided to the teachers and parents, formed the basis of this guide that summarizes the essential information needed by an educator and a parent to build a healthy and functional relationship with the child.

This guide provides a model of good practice for optimizing cognitive, social and emotional development of children and to facilitate healthy and functional relationships between parents and children.
The guide proposes a model of change psycho-educational practices in schools, replacing relational aggressive behaviors with appropriate behaviors, learning of ways of coping and management of conflicts.

Final Partners’ meeting

The fourth partners’ meeting took place in Florence (IT) on 15 December 2014. The meeting had the objective to check the activities carried out since the third meeting of the project and share and assess the in progress results. A special focus has been dedicated to the presentation of the strategies to solve the case scenarios.
