Identification of students’ at risk

The case occurred in the 2008-2009 academic year. It happened in Mairena del Alcor, a town of Seville.
Those involved in the story were the student 16 years old, the family, classmates, teachers and the educational counselor..
The student belongs to a family of 5 brothers. The family belongs low socioeconomic level. In the family only father and the big brother works. The protagonist of the story is the 4th brother.
The student had already repeated once and academic results I was getting were bad. The student's friends had already left school and he wanted to do the same.
He was a very charismatic student, and he got along with everyone, even with teachers. The student stops going to school and when teachers and peers care about their situation.
The student was an intelligent child, but lacked habit of work and family is not worried about his studies.
The classmates to see that the student did not attend school, wrote a letter to encourage him and remind him why you did not have to leave school.
Furthermore, the counselor and teachers contacted him and his family. After various meetings, they reached an agreement. The student would finish 3rd ESO (obligatory secondary education) , and would later curricular diversification, this is a program which provide students with difficulties to obtain the certificate of Obligatory Education .
The success of this case is due to the camaraderie of the students of the school, the cooperation of the school counselor and patience. The counselor patiently succeeded in winning the student, so he relied on his advice.
