Description of Dissemination Event:
During the visit of a committee from the Instituto Federal de Educação Ciência e tecnologia, from Pernambuco, Brazil, to the Escola Superior de Educação, Instituto Politécnico de castelo Branco, on the 11th June 2013 the School Safety Net project was presented by the local project manager, Margarida Morgado. The project researcher Domingos Santos was also present. The School Safety Net project was presented as an example of European research practice that could be further developed between Portugal and Brazil by expanding the European inout to include data from South America. The Brazilian committee was interested to learn that they could access the project portal on line and that they could share best practice across continents. The committee shared their experience in what concerns school dropout and how they would welcome involvement in such a project. Although the social and economic frameworks are quite different in terms of qualifications required for professional life and compulsory school years in Brazil when compared to most European countries, The School Safety Net project structure was considered adequate for further collaboration at the research and practice levels.
