The article announced that in July 2011, was promulgated Law no. 157/11.07.2011 which introduces new regulations concerning aliens in Romania.
Numerous NGO welcomes the emergence of these laws on amending and supplementing certain laws on foreigners in Romania. Also, appreciate the transparency and availability of the Administration Ministry to work with civil society in the process of drafting the legislation and to include the comments and suggestions made in order to improve the specific regulations.
New Law 157/11.07.2011 improves the current legal framework on aliens and offers the possibility that in the future, Romania to manage the phenomenon of immigration in a more effective and beneficial way for all parties involved.
COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
The new law covers a number of positive changes most notably: regulations relating to Schengen, facilitating access and participation in the labor market for highly skilled migrant workers, allowing them to work for foreigners on domestic tolerance, harmonization of reunification family, the possibility of changing the purpose of the visa period of stay, procedures that facilitate foreigners' access to basic services and encourage their integration through a simplified access to education, training and labor market protection and increased support for foreigners who are part of vulnerable groups and victims of human trafficking.
NGOs active in the field of immigration show their support and express their willingness to cooperate with the state in order to continue perfecting the legal framework and the implementation of existing rules on foreigners in Romania. In this regard, they consider the consultation including participation in the work of the Steering Group of the National Strategy on Immigration 2011-2014.

Final Partners’ meeting

The fourth partners’ meeting took place in Florence (IT) on 15 December 2014. The meeting had the objective to check the activities carried out since the third meeting of the project and share and assess the in progress results. A special focus has been dedicated to the presentation of the strategies to solve the case scenarios.
