This book analyses the situation of those young people and adolescents who, for various reasons, family, school, or social, are in a vulnerable situation. Often, these behaviours are usually configured, along the development, through various processes failures of social integration.
The book provides guidelines for early identification of children in these situations and effective intervention protocols in different areas: school, social services, primary care services, mental health services, judicial system, etc.. Thus, we analyse both potential risk and protective factors in different situations as specific strategies for each case.

COMMENTS ON THIS PUBLICATION
Among the strength that justify the selection of this material we highlight the rigor and breadth of the information provided as well as the multidisciplinary approach, which enables a comprehensive picture of the different problems at different levels (individual, family, school, social) that can threaten personal development. Besides, the structure of the book allows go from broader to more specific issues covering, in this way, each and every one of the priority areas of intervention in children at risk. Another strength is the practical content offered by the book. Specifically, each chapter includes a number of strategies or recommendations to intervene in the issues raised. In addition, is important to highlight the wide variety of people that can make use of this resource. The book is likely to be used by educators (teachers, principals and educators in general), health professionals (doctors, nurses...), social services professionals (social services teams) and even families. Eventually, the potential transfer of the book, which is wide, due to several reasons: first, the book is free on the network; on the other hand, the multidisciplinary approach makes it a useful resource for professionals from various sectors; and finally, the most renowned of their authors, in connection with the development, enables the book to be considered as a reference manual to educational level.
This book is a material of great help for all those people who work, live, or share time with children who are in vulnerable situations or contexts, so it is important to collect these kinds of documents in School Safety Net Project. Recommendations collected in the book are useful for detection and early intervention of at-risk youth psychosocial aspect that emerges as one of the most directly related to school dropout.
