Message: It is true that one of the main barriers is an immigrant student to get to the new school, is language. In Andalusia , due to its proximity to Africa there are usually many immigrants who come to our Country without knowing our language, so it is very important that we as teachers know to carry out various programs to facilitate these children 's acquisition of new language.
In Andalusia the language immersion classrooms , which are an extraordinary resource for the teaching of the Spanish language to students of Secondary Education and the 2nd and 3rd stages of primary education is used.
They are located in Secondary Schools and teachers are provided by secondary and primary education , specializing in teaching Spanish as a second language and I devote all their time to the program. Serve the students in the Immersion Classroom or moving to places of origin of the students.
Students receive support between about 6 and 20 teaching hours per week , depending on their level of proficiency in Spanish , age and type of care .
Isa resource that gets very good results. The main goals we can find :
objectives:
To provide students with basic language skills in Spanish that allows a minimum of social interaction with the educational community
Undertake development of adaptive school habits and basic social skills in order to encourage the integration of pupil
Work and strengthen , to the extent that the above objectives are achieved , a basic vocabulary of instrumental areas where you have access to curricular materials
Moreover , I will not forget the importance of respecting the students in their decisions. In this case the student wanted to study hairdressing . Here in Spain there is a large range of possibilities for vocational training . In my opinion , the important thing is for students to form, and do something that I dont really like it, and can give the best of each .
