Review
The video ‘What are Learning Disabilities’ presented by LDAO is a children-friendly and age adjusted video, which is aimed to explain the term ‘’Learning Disabilities’’ to young children. Visually, the video is an animation and some characters are carrying on a conversation and the viewers of the video are getting the information as in the role of a spectator. The scientific expressions are well leveled down for an easy understanding and complex issues are facilitated with simple explanations and speech acts. The use of a child’s voice makes the video more intimate to children and catches their attention as if an adult would explain the points. To sum up, the video is a well done product which tries to explain Learning Disabilities to children and it also helps to raise the awareness of them. It is an important fact to know that children encounter many classmates who suffer learning disabilities.
