Description of Contents
This video features four high school students, along with their teacher, at Denver Academy as they examine the mindsets as well as practical techniques and strategies required to create successful learning environments for those students labeled learning disabled.
Featuring: Terrence, student diagnosed with ADD; Emmy, student diagnosed with ADD; Paul, student diagnosed with ADHD & Gifted; Philippe Ernewein, High School Teacher.
This instructional video created by the Learning Disabilities Association of Colorado (2008) in partnership with Denver Academy, for teachers, administrators and parents, takes a fresh look at what learning can look like for students diagnosed with learning disabilities.
Instead of asking 'how smart a student is' start by inquiring how is the student smart. How can differentiating my instruction, my language and even my mindset help create a transformative experience for that student?
Review
Students with difficulties present their own case. Quite impressive stories that can give a valuable feedback to almost everybody on the way that we can handle such situations.
