Review
The Portfolio Of Integration (POI) is a transnational project funded by the European Commission through the Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), under the sub-programme Comenius –Multilateral Projects. The project involves 5 institutions from 5 different European countries: Italy, Poland, Greece, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
It provides a new approach to the educational integration of migrant children/children of migrants/new arrivals. The core aim of the POI Project is to help teachers to extend their intercultural and pedagogical expertise in order to help such young people to integrate more effectively in the classroom, school and wider ‘host’ society. Oxfam Italia developed the “Notebook of Integration” that was designed to help teachers address the specific needs of the children within these changing demographics. In particular, the Notebook acted as a tool for the development of teachers’ observational skills in the classroom and wider school context.
